Wellness Isn’t a List of Amenities

We don’t have an infinity pool, infrared lights, or a sauna. What we have is this: the sound of the Hollín River, a forest that isn’t performing for anyone, and enough silence to notice — maybe for the first time in months — how you actually feel when nothing is asking anything of you. For us, that’s already wellness. Everything else — the yoga, the massages, the spring-fed pool — is a complement, not the starting point.

Massages with Ingredients That Grow Right Here

Massages at Kuyana use essential oils made from plants in the surrounding forest, applied with techniques that blend Amazonian tradition with therapeutic practice. They run 40 to 60 minutes. There’s no 15-treatment menu with names in French — just a couple of options done well, meant to actually relax you, not give you a catalog to choose from.

The Setting Matters as Much as the Massage

Our spa sits among the treetops, overlooking a branch of the Hollín River — you can hear the water through the whole treatment. If you’d rather, we can also do it riverside or in the privacy of your own room. It’s not decoration: it’s why a massage here feels different from one in any city.

Yoga on the Forest’s Schedule, Not the Instructor’s

We offer guided classes and open spaces to practice on your own, surrounded by the actual sound of the rainforest — not a recording of one. Our yoga area is inspired by traditional Waorani architecture, open-air, built so the wind and light come in as they are. Whether you’re a beginner or years into your practice, the point here isn’t a perfect pose — it’s syncing your breath with something you don’t control.

A SPRING-FED POOL, NOT A CHLORINATED ONE

The water comes straight from a mountain spring — no heavy chemicals involved. After a day of hiking, it’s simply a cool place to stop, not an “infinity pool” built for photos.

Wellness RETREAT Programs

If you’re after something more structured than a couple of loose days, we have two programs — 3 days/2 nights and 4 days/3 nights — built around the same idea: less to do, more time to just be. We won’t promise a spiritual transformation; we’ll promise the space for one to happen, if it’s going to.
