Kuyana sits on the banks of the Hollín River, 3.5 hours from Quito by road — the last 10 minutes on cobblestone, through the community of Santo Domingo del Hollín, 15 minutes from Archidona. The reserve covers 30 hectares of protected rainforest, plus a 1.2-hectare island where the Ushpayacu estuary meets the Hollín River.

The fastest and most recommended route from Quito is: Quito – Papallacta – Cosanga – Baeza – Archidona. Estimated travel time: 3 hours and 30 minutes. Please note that the last 10 minutes before reaching the lodge involves a cobblestone road.

We also offer a private transfer service (extra fee), where a driver can pick you up directly from the airport or any address in Quito or the surrounding areas. This service must be reserved at least 24 hours in advance. Please contact us for pricing information. The estimated travel time is 3.5 hours.

Begin your journey at the Quitumbe Bus Station in the south of Quito. You can easily reach the terminal via the metro from the city center. From there, take a public bus to Archidona. Once you arrive in Archidona, you will need to take a taxi to reach the lodge. The taxi ride from Archidona to Kuyana Lodge is approximately $10,00. The estimated travel time is 6 hours.
