Sustainability at Kuyana Amazon Lodge – Where Regeneration Comes to Life
Creating a future where nature, people, and hospitality thrive together.
At Kuyana Amazon Lodge, sustainability is not a concept — it’s our way of life. Since 2017, our family and team have been committed to restoring a once-degraded piece of land in the Ecuadorian Amazon into a living sanctuary for wildlife, culture, and wellbeing.
Through years of dedication, we have planted over 12,000 native trees, protected rivers and wildlife corridors, and partnered with nearby Quechua families to create opportunities through fair employment, local sourcing, and training programs. Every guest who visits becomes part of this transformation — each stay helps the forest regenerate.
Our work has been recognized internationally:
-
🏆 Gold Winner – “Increasing Local Sourcing & Creating Shared Value”, LATA Responsible Tourism Awards 2025, for our model of collaboration with local communities.
-
🌍 Finalist – Global Responsible Tourism Awards 2025, sponsored by Sabre Corporation.
-
✅ Certified under the SMART PLANET Program, meeting rigorous standards for wildlife protection, water management, worker welfare, and community impact.
Beyond sustainability, Kuyana embraces regenerative tourism — going beyond reducing impact to actively restoring ecosystems and cultures. From our bee sanctuary and mushroom greenhouse to our farm-to-table kitchen and tree-planting rituals, every initiative is designed to give more than we take.
When you choose Kuyana, you’re not just visiting a lodge — you’re supporting a living project of renewal, respect, and hope in the heart of the Amazon.
