Itinerary

DAY 1 – Arrival & Kuyana Island Trail

Dinner included

Your adventure begins at Kuyana Amazon Lodge, where our team welcomes you with a native beverage  — a first taste of the forest that will be your home for the next few days.
After a short introduction to Kuyana’s regenerative philosophy, settle into your cabin and let the sound of the river replace the noise of the city.

Afternoon:
Start your exploration with a guided walk along the Guitarracocha Trail, inspired by a local legend that tells of guitar sounds echoing at night near its lagoon. The trail leads to Kuyana Island, where your guide will share insights about the surrounding ecosystem and its importance for regeneration.
From the Kuyana Viewpoint, you’ll enjoy a panoramic view of the Hollín River, one of the main tributaries of the Napo River, admired for its strength and beauty that sculpt the landscape.
(Moderate difficulty: 2.5/5, approx. 1.5 hours total.)

Evening:
End your first day with a farm-to-table dinner prepared with fresh, local ingredients. Each dish reflects the flavors of the forest and the warmth of Amazonian hospitality.

DAY 2 – Birdsong, Waterfalls & Amazon Flavors

Breakfast, lunch, and dinner included

Morning:
Begin your day to the melody of the rainforest. Join our naturalist guide for a gentle birdwatching walk, where vibrant parrots, kingfishers, and caciques fill the canopy with color and sound.
(Easy level: 2/5, approx. 1 hour total.)

After breakfast, continue with a guided hike to the Ushpayacu Waterfalls — one of Kuyana’s signature trails.
This walk invites you to connect deeply with the forest: feel the humidity, cross small natural springs, and reach a cascade where you can bathe under its refreshing waters. A short section of the route requires light climbing, adding a touch of adventure to this journey through nature.
(Moderate difficulty: 3/5, approx. 3 hours total.)

Afternoon:
After lunch, join our Amazon cooking class, where you’ll learn to prepare traditional dishes such as maito and chontacuro, and craft your own chocolate from native cacao.
It’s not just a class — it’s an immersion into Amazonian flavor and culture.

Evening:
Relax with dinner under the soft glow of the lamps and the sounds of the forest at night — the perfect end to a day full of discovery.

DAY 3 – Amazon Safari & Night Walk

Breakfast, lunch, and dinner included

Morning to Afternoon:
After breakfast, embark on the Amazon Safari Experience, one of Kuyana’s most remarkable adventures.
Board a non-motorized canoe and glide along a peaceful lagoon where birds, butterflies, and curious monkeys reveal the pulse of the jungle.
Then, continue your journey along the Napo River aboard a motorized canoe — the main artery of the Ecuadorian Amazon — until reaching a Quechua community.
You’ll be greeted with traditional music and dance, and invited to share in their customs, art, and daily life. It’s a powerful encounter with the human heart of the forest, where culture and nature coexist in harmony.
(Moderate difficulty: 2.5/5, approx. 6 hours total.)

Evening:
As night falls, join our Guided Night Walk (moderate difficulty 2/5, approx. 1 hour).
Step quietly through the jungle to witness how the forest transforms after dark — a world alive with movement, sound, and mystery.

DAY 4 – Planting Your Legacy

Breakfast included

Your final morning begins with coffee and birdsong — a moment to reflect on the beauty you’ve experienced.
Before leaving, take part in Kuyana’s Reforestation Project.
Plant your own tree along the Hollín River, symbolizing your contribution to the regeneration of the Amazon.

Every traveler leaves Kuyana with a living legacy — a small act that continues to grow long after the journey ends.
