Itinerary

DAY 1 – The Ultimate Rafting Adventure Begins

Pick-up in Quito: 5:00 AM | Rafting Start: 9:00 AM | Meals: Lunch & Dinner Included

If you’re an adventure enthusiast looking to explore one of the world’s top whitewater destinations, your journey begins here.

Depart from Quito at 5:00 AM, heading deep into the Amazon basin toward Mondayacu. At 9:00 AM, the excitement begins with a safety induction and rafting briefing led by our certified guides.

Get ready to conquer the Jondachi–Hollín River, a breathtaking waterway famous for its Class IV rapids, emerald canyons, and stunning jungle scenery. This stretch is ideal for experienced rafters seeking a world-class adrenaline rush surrounded by waterfalls, wildlife, and panoramic views.

After about 3 hours of thrilling descent, you’ll arrive at Kuyana Amazon Lodge, where a refreshing native welcome drink awaits you. Enjoy a delicious Amazonian lunch, then unwind with a 40-minute massage in our treetop spa, accompanied by the tranquil sounds of the rainforest.

As evening falls, indulge in a three-course gourmet dinner prepared with fresh local ingredients.

End your day with a Guided Night Walk, exploring the rainforest’s nocturnal wonders — frogs, insects, and other creatures that come alive under the moonlight. (Difficulty: 2/5 – approx. 1 hour).

DAY 2 – Waterfalls & Amazon Flavors

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner Included

Awake to the song of tropical birds and enjoy a nourishing Amazonian breakfast before setting out to the Ushpayacu Waterfalls. Follow forest trails to reach a natural pool beneath the falls, where you can swim and rejuvenate amid lush greenery. (Difficulty: 3/5 – approx. 3 hours).

After lunch, join our traditional cooking class—prepare iconic dishes like maito and chontacuro and hand-craft your own chocolate from local cacao.

Evening dinner under the stars rounds out a day of flavor, culture, and connection.

DAY 3 – Canyon & Ceremonial Caves Exploration

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner Included

After breakfast, set out for the Grand Canyon of Kuyana, just 35 minutes from the lodge. Prepare for a challenging 10-meter rock hike through a natural canyon carved over centuries. The trail ends at a sacred lagoon, where, according to legend, ancient healers once brought the sick for spiritual cleansing.

Continue to a complex of ceremonial caves, where stalactites and stalagmites reveal the timeless power of the earth. This four-hour adventure (difficulty 3.5/5) rewards you with breathtaking views, cultural insight, and deep connection to nature.

After a satisfying lunch, enjoy free time until dusk, when you’ll join a guided night walk and campfire. Discover the jungle’s nocturnal creatures and listen to the living rhythm of the Amazon under a sky full of stars.

DAY 4 – Farewell & Jungle Legends

Breakfast Included

Begin your final morning with breakfast made from fresh local produce. Before you leave, take part in our Hollín River Reforestation Project—plant a tree and leave a living legacy in the Amazon.

Conclude your stay with a guided hike along Kuyana Island and the Guitarracocha Trail. Legend says guitar sounds echo here at night; walk through this mystical landscape, swim in its tranquil waters, and admire sweeping views of the Hollín River, one of the Amazon’s cleanest tributaries. (Difficulty 2.5/5 – approx. 1.5 hours).
