DAY 1

Morning: The adventure of a lifetime starts at 9:00 AM, with a thrilling meetup at the rafting launch point (we recommend an early 6:30 AM departure from Quito). Brace yourself for an unforgettable ride down the renowned Hollín River, a world-class rafting destination celebrated for its adrenaline-pumping rapids and jaw-dropping scenery.

After around 3 hours of pure excitement on the river, you’ll arrive at Kuyana Lodge, where our team will greet you with a refreshing, handcrafted native drink to welcome you into the heart of the jungle. A delicious lunch awaits, specially prepared to fuel you for the next chapter of your adventure.

Afternoon: Surrender to relaxation with a 40-minute massage in our treetop spa, where the symphony of the rainforest surrounds you, creating a uniquely soothing experience that renews both body and spirit.

Evening: End this extraordinary day with a gourmet dinner, artfully crafted with the freshest local ingredients. Each bite celebrates the flavors of the Amazon, wrapping up your first day in paradise with an experience that is as luxurious as it is unforgettable.

DAY 2

Rise early to witness the breathtaking beauty of Amazonian birdlife and their melodious songs.

Meals: Enjoy a delicious breakfast, lunch, and dinner, all prepared with a fusion of the freshest local ingredients.

Prepare for a guided walk to the Ushpayacu waterfalls. The Ushpayacu estuary is a natural wonder formed by a network of water sources and natural springs found in the area. As it flows through Kuyana Amazon Lodge, the estuary is a prominent attraction, perfect for exploring and immersing yourself in the lush jungle surroundings. Along the way, you will enjoy breathtaking views of the waterfalls that dot the landscape. Keep your eyes peeled for a diverse range of birds, insects, and animal species that call this area home. This tour is a moderately challenging experience, rated 3.0 out of 5 points, and typically lasts around 3 hours.

Cooking class: Our traditional cooking class allows you to create and savor a variety of delicious local dishes, including maito and chontacuro. And, of course, you will enjoy making your own chocolate.

DAY 3

Rise early to witness the breathtaking beauty of Amazonian birdlife and their melodious songs.

Meals: Enjoy a delicious breakfast, lunch, and dinner, all prepared with a fusion of the freshest local ingredients.

Your adventure continues to the grand canyon, located 35 minutes from the lodge by vehicle. Prepare for a challenging hike within a rock formation about 10 meters high, where you can appreciate a landscape surrounded by nature until you reach the formation of a natural lagoon and take a refreshing bath. Legend has it that this was a sacred place where the sick were taken to the lagoon, and they asked the spirits of the jungle for healing. At the end of the canyon hike, we continue our adventure to a complex of ceremonial caves where stalactites and stalagmites formed over hundreds of years can be observed. This expedition lasts about 1 hour. With a difficulty rating of 3.5 out of 5, this tour will require some physical exertion, but the four-hour timeframe allows ample opportunity to take in the sights and sounds of the stunning natural environment. Once the activity is finished, get ready for a delicious lunch.

Guided night walk and campfire, where you can discover and be part of the rich nocturnal ecosystem of the region. Learn about the fascinating and mysterious nocturnal species that inhabit the area and immerse yourself in the wonders of the jungle after dark.

DAY 4

Your last day in the jungle has arrived! Wake up to the melodies of the birds and start your day with a delicious breakfast prepared with a fusion of fresh, locally-sourced ingredients. While you’re here, why not take part in our Hollín River reforestation project? Join us in planting a tree and contribute to the preservation and restoration of this precious ecosystem.

Your adventure continues exploring Kuyana Island and the Guitarracocha Trail. The name of this trail is due to the legend that says in this body of water, at night, you can hear the sound of guitars. Along the way, you can explore Kuyana Island and enjoy a refreshing bath on its shores, as well as visit the viewpoint, which offers majestic views of the Hollín River. This river is known for being one of the cleanest in the Amazon and one of the main tributaries of the Napo River. This tour is a moderately challenging experience, rated 2.5 out of 5 points, and typically lasts around 1.5 hours.
