DAY 1 – Arrival & Forest Immersion
Dinner included
Your journey begins upon arrival at Kuyana Amazon Lodge, where you are welcomed with a refreshing native drink and a brief introduction to Kuyana’s philosophy — a place created to reconnect people with nature, purpose, and place. After settling into your cabin, take a moment to slow down and let the forest set the rhythm of your stay.
Begin your experience with a guided walk along the Guitarracocha Trail, inspired by a local legend that speaks of guitar-like sounds echoing near the lagoon at night. The trail leads across Kuyana Island, a regenerating ecosystem rich in native flora. From the Kuyana Viewpoint, enjoy expansive views of the Hollín River, one of the main tributaries of the Napo River, and the surrounding rainforest.
(Difficulty: 2.5/5 – approx. 1.5 hours)
As daylight fades, take part in our Amazon cooking class, where you will prepare traditional dishes such as maito and chontacuro, followed by a hands-on chocolate-making experience using native cacao.
The day concludes with a thoughtfully prepared farm-to-table dinner, enjoyed beneath the stars and accompanied by the natural sounds of the forest.
DAY 2 – Waterfalls, Reflection & Regeneration
Breakfast & lunch included
Wake to the sounds of birds and the soft morning light filtering through the jungle. Enjoy a nourishing breakfast prepared with fresh, locally sourced ingredients from Kuyana’s gardens and nearby families.
Set out on a guided walk to the Ushpayacu Waterfalls, one of Kuyana’s most meaningful forest trails. The path follows streams and natural springs, inviting you to slow down and connect with the elements — the humidity in the air, moss-covered stones, and the steady rhythm of the forest.
At the end of the trail, take time to bathe beneath the waterfall and enjoy a quiet moment in nature. A short section of light climbing adds a gentle sense of adventure.
(Difficulty: 3/5 – approx. 3 hours)
Before departure, enjoy a farewell lunch at the lodge, a relaxed moment to close the experience and reflect on your time in the Amazon.
After lunch, take part in Kuyana’s Reforestation Project. Plant a native tree and leave a living contribution to the Amazon — a simple yet meaningful act that represents regeneration, gratitude, and the lasting impact of conscious travel.
Your stay may be brief, but the memories — and the tree you plant — will continue to grow long after you leave Kuyana.
