Itinerary

DAY 1 – Arrival & Kuyana Island Trail

Dinner included

Your Kuyana journey begins with a warm welcome and a refreshing native drink prepared with local ingredients. After a brief introduction to your stay, you’ll learn about Kuyana’s philosophy — a place created to reconnect people with nature through comfort, care, and conscious travel.

Begin exploring with a guided walk along the Guitarracocha Trail, named after a local legend that speaks of guitar-like sounds echoing near its lagoon at night. The trail leads to Kuyana Island, a serene area surrounded by the lush beauty of the Amazon. From the viewpoint, enjoy expansive views of the Hollín River, one of the main tributaries of the Napo River, whose clear waters and strong current shape the surrounding ecosystems.
(Difficulty: 2.5/5 – approx. 1.5 hours)

Return to the lodge to enjoy a thoughtfully prepared farm-to-table dinner, featuring fresh ingredients from Kuyana’s gardens and nearby communities — a first taste of the lodge’s authentic Amazonian flavors.

DAY 2 – Waterfalls, Amazon Flavors & Night Walk

Breakfast, lunch & dinner included

After breakfast, set out on a guided walk to the Ushpayacu Waterfalls, located within Kuyana’s private reserve. The trail winds through dense vegetation and natural springs, inviting you to slow down and connect with the forest. At the end of the walk, enjoy time to bathe beneath the waterfall and refresh in its cool waters. A short section of light climbing adds a gentle sense of adventure.
(Difficulty: 3/5 – approx. 3 hours)

Back at the lodge, enjoy a relaxed lunch before taking part in a traditional Amazon cooking class. Learn to prepare local dishes such as maito and chontacuro, followed by a hands-on chocolate-making experience using locally sourced cacao — a sensory encounter with the flavors and stories of the Amazon.

As night falls, join a guided night walk through the forest. Discover the rainforest’s nocturnal life, observing frogs, insects, and other creatures that emerge after dark, and experience the jungle from a quieter, more intimate perspective.
(Difficulty: 2/5 – approx. 1 hour)

DAY 3 – Planting Your Legacy

Breakfast included

Wake to the sounds of the forest and enjoy your final breakfast at Kuyana. Before departure, take part in our Reforestation Project along the banks of the Hollín River.

Plant a native tree and leave a living contribution to the regeneration of the Amazon — a meaningful gesture that reflects Kuyana’s commitment to responsible travel, where every visit helps nature heal and every traveler becomes part of the forest’s renewal.
