Itinerary

DAY 1 – Arrival & Jungle Exploration

Dinner included

Welcome to Kuyana Amazon Lodge, your gateway to authentic adventure travel in Ecuador. Upon arrival, enjoy a refreshing jungle drink and a warm welcome from our team. After check-in, your Amazon adventure begins.

Set out on a guided walk along the Guitarracocha Trail, inspired by local Kichwa legends. Explore Kuyana Island, discover native plants, and learn about the surrounding ecosystem as you make your way to the Kuyana Viewpoint, overlooking the Hollín River, one of the main tributaries of the Napo River — an ideal place to capture your first moments in the rainforest.
(Difficulty: 2.5/5 – approx. 1.5 hours)

As night falls, join a guided night walk to explore the jungle’s nocturnal world. Discover frogs, insects, and other creatures that emerge after dark, revealing a different side of the forest.
(Difficulty: 2/5 – approx. 1 hour)

End the day with a thoughtfully prepared three-course dinner, featuring Amazonian ingredients and local flavors.

Day 2 – Whitewater Rafting & Amazon Flavors

Breakfast, lunch & dinner included

Begin the day with a nourishing breakfast made with fresh, locally sourced ingredients — the perfect fuel for adventure.

Experience one of the most exciting outdoor activities in Ecuador: whitewater rafting on the Hollín River. Guided by our certified rafting professionals, navigate Class II and III rapids while surrounded by lush rainforest landscapes and abundant wildlife.

Midway through the journey, stop at a river beach for a picnic-style lunch, with time to swim, rest, and enjoy the serenity of the jungle.
(Difficulty: 3.5/5 – approx. 6 hours total)

Back at the lodge, take part in a traditional Amazon cooking class. Learn to prepare local dishes such as maito and chontacuro, followed by a hands-on chocolate-making experience using native cacao.

Dinner is served at the lodge, allowing you to relax and recharge after an exhilarating day on the river.

DAY 3 – Waterfalls & Planting Your Legacy

Breakfast included

Wake to the peaceful sounds of the forest and enjoy your final breakfast at Kuyana.

Continue your adventure with a guided walk to the Ushpayacu Waterfalls, following a tranquil trail through dense vegetation and natural springs. At the end of the route, reach a natural pool beneath the falls, where you can enjoy a refreshing swim and a moment of connection with nature.
(Difficulty: 3/5 – approx. 3 hours)

Before departure, take part in Kuyana’s reforestation project. Plant a native tree and leave a meaningful contribution to the regeneration of the Amazon — a lasting reminder that your adventure also helps protect this extraordinary ecosystem.
