Wellness Retreat – 3 Days / 2 Nights

HOW TO BOOK: TWO WAYS TO STAY AT KUYANA

Package (this page): Accommodation, all meals, guided activities, entrance fees, and a welcome drink — everything listed below, from dinner on arrival to breakfast on departure. This is the easiest way to experience Kuyana without planning each detail yourself.

Room Only: Just the room, no meals or activities included. Best if you’re planning your own itinerary or staying longer than a set package. Book directly on our Rooms page.

Who This Is For

For travelers who are tired of always doing something. Sunrise yoga, a cleansing ceremony with a shaman, a massage by the river — not a list of activities to check off, but three days built around a single question: what happens if, just once, you don’t have to do anything?

What to Expect

Two nights by the Hollín River, where every walk carries an intention, not just a destination. Every stay begins with dinner on arrival and ends with breakfast before departure. Nothing here rushes — not the walks, which adjust to your group’s pace, nor the days themselves.

Itinerary

Day 1 – Arrival & Welcome Walk Check-in opens at 3:00 PM.

Dinner is included tonight.

Welcome to your home for the next 3 days. You’re welcomed with a native drink, and our host will walk you through the lodge and your stay. Take a moment to settle in — there’s no rush. Afterward, a welcome walk along the Guitarracocha Trail — named after a local legend of guitar-like sounds near its lagoon — is your first real approach to the forest: it leads to Kuyana Island and a viewpoint over the Hollín River. (Easy walk, roughly 1.5 hours — adjusted to your group’s pace)

Dinner is served at 7:00 PM.

Afterward, a guided night walk invites you to let go of sight — the sense we rely on most during the day — and let hearing and smell take over. Frogs, insects, a forest that behaves differently once no one’s watching the clock. (Easy walk, roughly 1 hour)

Day 2 – Yoga, Waterfall & Cleansing Ceremony

Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included today.

The day starts between 6:30 and 7:00 AM, before breakfast, with a yoga and meditation session — a space to set an intention for the day, guided by an instructor who doesn’t rush anyone.

Breakfast is served from 7:30 AM. At 9:00 AM, the walk to the Ushpayacu Waterfalls sets out — not as a goal to reach, but as a walk of purification: the path follows springs and living water, and every step is an invitation to release something you no longer need to carry. (Difficulty 3 out of 5, roughly 3 hours total, including the swim and the return — adjusted to your group’s pace)

This waterfall is fed entirely by natural springs from the area, with no river tributary upstream — clean water at its source. Reaching the natural pool involves climbing a short rock wall, about 4 meters; the water that meets you there works like a closing ritual — it’s not just refreshing, it’s letting go.

Back at the lodge, a proper lunch awaits. In the afternoon, your 30-minute massage — by the river or at the Tree House — is included in this package; ask at the front desk to arrange a time that suits you.

At 5:30 PM, join an Amazon cooking class: you’ll prepare part of tonight’s dinner — maito and chontacuro — followed by hands-on chocolate-making with local cacao. The rest of the meal comes from Kuyana’s kitchen, served at 7:00 PM.

After dinner, gather by the campfire under the stars to meet a traditional healer from a nearby community. Through chants and aromatic plants, take part in a cleansing ceremony — the intentional close to a day that already came full of quiet

Day 3 – Yoga, the Regenerative Trail & Planting Your Legacy

Breakfast is included before you leave.

After breakfast, a walk leads to our regeneration project, where you’ll learn how mushrooms are cultivated here, how native bees live and work, and which medicinal plants grow along the path — the forest, seen for what it actually is: a living pharmacy. From there, join Kuyana’s Reforestation Project along the Hollín River.

Plant a native tree as a closing gesture — the exact place where something of yours stays behind, and something of the forest comes with you.

Your stay closes here — but what you let go of at the waterfall, and what you planted today, stay behind.
