Itinerary

Day 1 – Arrival & Kuyana Island Trail Check-in opens at 3:00 PM.

Dinner is included tonight.

You’re welcomed with a native drink — a first taste of the forest that will be home for the next few days. After a short introduction to your itinerary and time to settle into your room, a guided walk along the Guitarracocha Trail — named after a local legend of guitar-like sounds near its lagoon — leads to Kuyana Island, where you can take a refreshing swim along its banks, and on to the Kuyana Viewpoint, with views over the Hollín River and the surrounding forest. Have your camera ready. (Difficulty 2.5 out of 5, roughly 1.5 hours — adjusted to your group’s pace).

Back at the lodge, enjoy our signature cocktail happy hour, from 6:00 to 7:00 PM.

Dinner is served at 7:00 PM.

DAY 2 – Birdwatching, Waterfalls & Amazon Flavors

Breakfast, lunch & dinner included

Start the day early as the forest comes alive during a guided birdwatching walk. This region is home to a remarkable variety of species, including orioles, caciques, kingfishers, parrots, and many others that fill the morning with color and song.
(Difficulty: 2/5 – approx. 1 hour)

After breakfast, set out on a guided hike to the Ushpayacu Waterfalls, one of Kuyana’s most cherished natural spots. The trail winds through lush forest and leads to a natural pool at the base of the falls, inviting you to swim, refresh, and reconnect with nature.
(Difficulty: 3/5 – approx. 3 hours)

In the afternoon, enjoy a traditional Amazon cooking class, where you’ll learn to prepare local dishes such as maito and chontacuro, followed by a hands-on chocolate-making experience using locally sourced cacao.

As evening settles in, savor a relaxed dinner at the lodge, accompanied by the soothing sounds of the rainforest.

DAY 3 – Whitewater Rafting & Jungle Night Walk

Breakfast, lunch & dinner included

After breakfast, prepare for one of the highlights of your Amazon adventure: whitewater rafting on the Jatunyacu River.

Guided by internationally certified rafting guides, you’ll navigate Class II and III rapids, combining excitement with moments of calm as you drift past dense rainforest, orchids, and dramatic river landscapes. Midway through the journey, stop for a riverside picnic lunch, with time to swim, rest, and enjoy the surroundings.
(Difficulty: 3.5/5 – approx. 6 hours)

Back at the lodge, the rest of the afternoon is free — by the pool, on your terrace, or by the river. If you’d like to treat yourself, a massage can be arranged at our spa (available at an additional cost).

In the evening, join a guided night walk, discovering the rainforest after dark. Learn about nocturnal frogs, insects, and mammals, and experience the forest from an entirely different perspective.
(Difficulty: 2/5 – approx. 1 hour)

Wake to the sounds of tropical birds and enjoy your final breakfast at Kuyana. Before departure, take part in our Hollín River reforestation project.
