DAY 1 – Arrival & Kuyana Island Trail
Dinner included
Your journey begins with a warm welcome and a native beverage, that carry the taste of the Amazon.
After a short introduction to Kuyana’s regenerative philosophy, you’ll feel the pace of life slow — replaced by the sounds of the forest and the calm of being surrounded by nature.
Afternoon:
Start exploring through the Guitarracocha Trail, a path filled with ancestral stories. Legend says that on quiet nights, the faint sound of guitars drifts from its lagoon.
The trail leads to Kuyana Island, where you’ll walk under towering trees and reach a viewpoint overlooking the Hollín River — one of the main tributaries of the Napo River. Its energy, color, and movement embody the force of the Amazon itself.
(Moderate difficulty: 2.5/5, approx. 1.5 hours total.)
Evening:
As the day fades, enjoy a farm-to-table dinner made with ingredients from our gardens and nearby communities. Fresh, simple, and full of purpose — just like Kuyana.
DAY 2 – Birds, Waterfalls & Amazon Flavors
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner included
Morning:
Rise early to a symphony of bird calls and soft light filtering through the canopy.
Join your guide for a birdwatching walk, where kingfishers, and caciques reveal the living rhythm of the forest.
(Easy level: 2/5, approx. 1 hour total.)
After breakfast, begin your guided hike to the Ushpayacu Waterfalls — one of Kuyana’s most loved experiences.
This walk invites you to move at nature’s pace: listen to flowing springs, feel the humidity of the forest, and reach a cascade where you can bathe beneath its fresh waters. A short stretch of the trail requires light climbing, adding a touch of adventure to this intimate encounter with the jungle.
(Moderate difficulty: 3/5, approx. 3 hours total.)
Afternoon:
After lunch, join our Amazon cooking class, where tradition and creativity meet. Learn to prepare maito and chontacuro, and make your own chocolate from native cacao — a moment that connects you directly with local flavors and people.
Evening:
Dinner is served as the forest darkens. Take in the sounds of the night — each one a quiet reminder that you are part of something alive and vast.
DAY 3 – Cultural Encounters & the Jungle by Night
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner included
Morning:
After breakfast, visit a Quechua family in the community of Santo Domingo del Hollín.
You’ll be welcomed with genuine warmth — sharing stories, laughter, and ancestral practices passed down through generations. Learn how they live in harmony with the forest, and feel the deep connection between culture and nature that defines Amazonian life.
Afternoon:
Return to Kuyana for a relaxed lunch and time to rest or reflect — by the pool, your terrace, or near the riverbank where silence speaks louder than words.
Evening:
At dusk, head into the forest for our Night Walk (moderate difficulty 2/5, approx. 1 hour).
Step quietly through the trails as frogs, insects, and nocturnal creatures emerge. The glow of the moon, the rhythm of the river, and the stillness of the air make this a moment you’ll never forget.
DAY 4 – Planting Your Legacy
Breakfast included
Your last morning begins with birdsong and the aroma of fresh coffee.
Before you leave, take part in Kuyana’s Reforestation Project along the Hollín River. Plant a tree, give it your name, and know that a part of you will keep growing here — helping life return to the forest.
Every traveler leaves Kuyana with more than memories — they leave a living legacy in the Amazon.
