Itinerary

DAY 1 – Arrival & Kuyana Island Trail

Dinner included

Your Kuyana journey begins with a warm welcome and a native beverage made from local ingredients.
After a brief introduction, our host will share details about your stay and Kuyana’s philosophy — a place created to reconnect people with nature through comfort and care.

Afternoon:
Begin exploring with a guided walk along the Guitarracocha Trail, named after a local legend that tells of guitar sounds heard near its lagoon at night.
The trail leads to Kuyana Island, a peaceful area surrounded by the lush beauty of the Amazon. From its viewpoint, you’ll admire the grandeur of the Hollín River, one of the main tributaries of the Napo River. Known for its clear waters and strong current, the Hollín is a class IV river that shapes the landscape and gives life to the surrounding ecosystems.

(Moderate difficulty: 2.5/5, approx. 1.5 hours total.)

Evening:
Enjoy a farm-to-table dinner, thoughtfully prepared with fresh ingredients from our gardens and local communities — a first taste of Kuyana’s authentic flavors and spirit.

DAY 2 – Waterfalls, Flavors & Night Walk

Breakfast, lunch, and dinner included

Morning:
After breakfast, set out on a guided walk to the Ushpayacu Waterfalls.
This trail winds through lush vegetation and natural springs within Kuyana’s private reserve, offering moments of peace and connection with the forest.
Along the way, you’ll have the opportunity to bathe under the waterfall and enjoy the freshness of its waters.
A short section of the route requires light climbing, adding a touch of adventure to this immersive experience.
(Moderate difficulty: 3/5, approx. 3 hours total.)

Afternoon:
Return to the lodge for a relaxed lunch. Later, take part in our traditional Amazon cooking class, where you’ll prepare typical dishes such as maito and chontacuro, and make your own handmade chocolate from local cacao.
This is a hands-on encounter with the flavors, aromas, and stories of the Amazon.

Evening:
When night falls, join our Guided Night Walk (moderate difficulty 2/5, approx. 1 hour).
Discover the nocturnal side of the rainforest as you walk under the stars, observing frogs, insects, and other creatures that come alive in the dark.
It’s a calm, fascinating way to connect with the forest’s hidden life.

DAY 3 – Planting Your Legacy

Breakfast included

Wake up to the sounds of the forest and enjoy your final breakfast at Kuyana.
Before departing, take part in our Reforestation Project — plant your own tree along the banks of the Hollín River and leave a living mark that contributes to the regeneration of the Amazon.

This gesture symbolizes what Kuyana stands for: every visit helps nature heal, every tree represents a story, and every traveler becomes part of the forest’s renewal.
