Sustainable Amazon Experience Package in Ecuador – 3 Days / 2 Nights

HOW TO BOOK: TWO WAYS TO STAY AT KUYANA

Package (this page): Accommodation, all meals, guided activities, entrance fees, and a welcome drink — everything listed below, from dinner on arrival to breakfast on departure. This is the easiest way to experience Kuyana without planning each detail yourself.

Who This Is For

A fuller introduction to Kuyana — for travelers who want to combine a guided walk, a waterfall, a night walk, and hands-on cooking without rushing through any of it.

What to Expect

Two nights by the Hollín River, moving between forest trails, a waterfall, and Kuyana’s kitchen. Every stay begins with dinner on arrival and ends with breakfast before departure. The pace and length of each walk adapt to your group.

Itinerary

Day 1 – Arrival & Kuyana Island Trail

Check-in opens at 3:00 PM. Dinner is included tonight.

You’re welcomed with a native drink and a short introduction to Kuyana’s regenerative philosophy. After settling in, a guided walk along the Guitarracocha Trail — named after a local legend of guitar-like sounds near its lagoon — leads to Kuyana Island and a viewpoint over the Hollín River.
(Easy walk, roughly 1.5 hours — adjusted to your group’s pace)

Back at the lodge, enjoy our signature cocktail happy hour, from 6:00 to 7:00 PM.

Dinner is a farm-to-table meal made with ingredients from Kuyana’s gardens and nearby communities.

Day 2 – Waterfall, Cooking Class & Night Walk

Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included today.

Breakfast is served from 7:30 AM. At 9:00 AM, a guided walk sets out toward the Ushpayacu Waterfalls — about 3 hours in total, including the walk, time to bathe, and the return.
(Difficulty 3 out of 5 — adjusted to your group’s pace)

This waterfall is fed entirely by natural springs from the area, with no river tributary upstream — the water is clean from its source. In fact, every drop you use at Kuyana comes from natural springs, so a shower here is, in a way, its own kind of waterfall — with hot water available in your room.

Reaching the natural pool involves climbing a short rock wall, about 4 meters — most guests take the chance to bathe here, so plan to get wet.

Back at the lodge, take your time to change before lunch — no one shows up to the table soaking wet. The rest of the afternoon is free: by the pool, on your terrace, or by the river.

Take the chance to treat yourself: a riverside massage starting at 30 minutes is available at our spa — ideal for easing muscles after the hike and settling fully into the evening ahead.

At 5:00 PM, join an Amazon cooking class: you’ll prepare part of tonight’s dinner — maito and chontacuro — followed by hands-on chocolate-making with local cacao. The rest of the meal comes from Kuyana’s kitchen, served at 7:00 PM.

After dinner, a guided night walk reveals the forest’s nocturnal life — frogs, insects, and the sounds that only come out after dark.
(Easy walk, roughly 1 hour)

Day 3 – Planting Your Legacy

Breakfast is included before you leave.

Start the morning with breakfast at the lodge. Afterward, join Kuyana’s Reforestation Project along the Hollín River and plant a native tree before you go.

Check-out is at 11:00 AM — if you have time to spare in the morning, use it at your own pace: a dip in the pool, another massage, or a short, self-guided walk around the lodge.

Your stay closes here — but the tree you planted keeps growing.
