Day 1 – Arrival & Immersion in the Forest

Upon your arrival at Kuyana Amazon Lodge, you’ll be welcomed with a refreshing jungle drink and a warm introduction to the Kuyana philosophy by our host. After settling into your cabin, your adventure begins.
Afternoon activity:
Embark on the Guitarracocha Trail, a scenic route named after local legends that tell of mystical guitar sounds near its small lagoon. You’ll explore Kuyana Island, guided by one of our naturalists who will introduce you to this regenerating ecosystem and its wildlife. Take a moment to enjoy a refreshing swim and continue toward the Kuyana Viewpoint, where panoramic views of the Hollín River and the surrounding rainforest await.

Evening activity:
As the day fades, engage in a traditional cooking class, where you’ll explore Amazonian ingredients through sight, scent, and flavor. Learn to prepare regional specialties such as maito (fish wrapped in bijao leaves) and chontacuro (edible palm worm), and create your own artisanal chocolate from local cacao.
